The FIA Motorsport Games is an event that includes races across various motorsport categories, where drivers from around the world participate under the colors of their national flag. In 2024, it was held in Valencia, specifically at the Ricardo Tormo & Aspar tracks.

Preparation for the Greek team started earlier this year and was completed in late August. This year, we tried to make a unique promotion for the FIA Motorsport Games to help the motorsport community understand more about the event and to attract more entries to showcase Greek motorsport worldwide.
All the preparation paid off, and the Greek delegation ultimately doubled its entries compared to the last time. Thus, a total of 9 athletes in 8 categories took part in the 2024 FIA Motorsport Games (Crosscar Jr, Crosscar Sr, Drifting, Esports GT, Formula 4, Karting Sprint Jr, Karting Sprint Sr & Rally4 Tarmac).
A detailed breakdown of the Greek entries at the FIA Motorsport Games 2024:
Crosscar Junior - Vasilis Iliopoulos
Crosscar Senior – Konstantinos Anastasopoulos
Drifting - Christos Chantzaras
Esports GT - Manos Gerardis
Formula 4 - Philippe Armand Karras

FIA Motorsport Games 2024 - Valencia
The Ricardo Tormo circuit may not be at the level of Paul Ricard, but it remains impressive. A vast area, with many auxiliary spaces and smaller tracks around, like the drift track and the road safety course. At the Aspar circuit, we saw an excellent karting track, numerous auxiliary spaces where the pits for crosscar & kart were set up, and a specially designed smart track for the crosscar races, set up 20 days before the games.
The Greek entries attracted attention with their performances and presence across all categories, and the visibility of Greek athletes on social media, streaming platforms, and motorsport media was frequent.
In the Cross Car Junior category, the youngest of the Greek team, Vasilis Iliopoulos, also the youngest in his category, competed with steady improvement in his performance, reaching 5th place in the semi-final and finishing 10th in his category standings.
Konstantinos Anastasopoulos participated in the Cross Car Senior category, where he faced 25 champions, delivering impressive battles. A mechanical failure kept him out of the final, but he gained valuable experience for the future.
In the Drifting category, Christos Chantzaras reached the Top 16 with impressive runs.
Manos Gerardis, in the Esports GT category, overcame all the challenges of a live esports event, making it to the final. Showing speed and consistency, he finished in 17th place among 57 athletes.
Philippe Armand Karras, in the Formula 4 category, in his second race in the category, showed his talent, starting from the 10th position. Although he was forced to retire early from the race after being hit by his Czech competitor, his performance in all races received positive comments and admiration.
In the Karting Sprint Jr category, Nikolas Karagiannis competed with consistency, finishing in 13th place out of 36 drivers, showing excellent speed in all sessions.
Jean Paul Karras, in the Karting Sprint Sr category, also gave his best, finishing 13th out of 41 drivers.
In the Rally4 Tarmac category, Christos Avgeropoulos and Stratos Yavassis, driving a Peugeot 208 Rally 4, started strong, reaching 3rd place in the standings. However, a mistake just before the end of the penultimate special stage forced them out of the race.
Κλείνοντας...
My role as the leader/coordinator of the Greek delegation this year carried greater weight and responsibility, as there were also minor athletes on the team. Everything went smoothly, including the information updates, where I had to be present at two tracks, covering over 600 kilometers in 5 days by car.
The promoter of the FIA Motorsport Games has taken this event seriously. This year, they nearly doubled the categories, and more innovations are expected in the future. The appeal and interest from countries to participate are undoubtedly growing, as is evident in Greece as well.
I want to thank all the athletes, parents, coaches, and mechanics for your participation and support in everything we do with D. Amaksopoulos for the FIA Motorsport Games. We are filled with satisfaction and joy for achieving another respectable performance in the games this year.
I hope that in the next FIA Motorsport Games, which will be held in two years, there will be even greater participation and that Greece will be more involved with more athletes.
Until we meet again!
